"Goo Kapan...////..."..lol

Ok..well as for relaxing during the holidays went for a six when the match season stated in Uni..

well it's definitely nothing posh..but a real humble series played for honor and sportsmanship...

the matches were organized to be held in the old rundown double outdoor basketball court in the uni..and was told that every batch can have a team..

The First years..had a team...initially it was to be purely Sri Lankan..and then later since we also had a couple of Sri Lankanized indians who were supporting us..it was a mixed team..

basically the matches were supposed to be between Indians and Sri lankans of all 6 or 5 years...

the most unfair part for us was that there were no girls in any team so we were left out to be the honorable cheerleaders..:(

but still we took our role quiet seriously...because after been away from home for just over a month..in a football land..where cricket was played rarely just for exhibitions sake..and when all of us missed the beloved big match season and are streaming the IPL through youtube..we were very cricketsick..lol

so the first match was between first year Indians and Sri Lankans+2 Indians..

The match started with the Indian batting for us...did you know he played for Rajestan Royals last IPL..omg wasn't he good..he like made a 56 in like i dont know 10 balls..lol..it was a great match...

and us the girls all came wearing the same color..with lots of coordination and cheered our beautiful voices out for the boys....
in here we were introduced to our beloved cheer..."Goo kapan.."..lol...obviously none of the girls consented to cheering that way..and our contribution went as...screeching at the top of our lungs when an Indian was about to take a catch and scaring them and exciting them away so that they dropped the catches..and trust me it worked..and also screaming not out and pressuring the umpires...how can they say no to a bunch of really pretty cute girls right..lol...and trust me..our magic worked and WE WON..

One DOWN..many more to go..

The next day was our team Vs. Indian 3rd year...

Omg weren't they good..and our Rajestan player got out during the first over and it was up to pure Sri Lankan blood to save the day..and weren't they amazing i admit that it was a rough and a nail biting...chest burning..blood boiling game...but still the Boys played..as if their lives depended on it..

Lots of bad callings..lots of unfair judgements...but we didn't give up..the lions roared through..
and us the girls never let the spirit die..we kept on the cheer..encouraged our boys..and kept the Sri Lankaness alive...never did we waiver under the rude stares from the Indian Supporters or their own dirty rhymes..we stood straight and cheered on...

When we scarped into a 140 at the end of the 15 overs as opposed to the 194 the previous day the boys were so geared up to field their life away...

And didn't they do well..amazing swiftness..dedication and the determination they had in their minds showed to all spectators that we were not a batch to be messed around with..

And we cheered as never before..cheered the boys on..even consenting to go rip the head off the Umpires for their unfairness..and
we came up with our own cheer as opposed to the boys "Goo Kapan" which i say is an amazing rhyme..which never leaves your head..we sang.."Mutaa Gahanna Baa...///" in our tired voices..hearing us sing..the boys were smiling...and they were given inspiration and the extra push needed..

Last over...
15 runs off 6 balls...
we were in creeps...in tippi-toes...
but we never stopped cheering...

i tell you hearing us cheer in one voice "Mutaa gahanna baa"really put down the spirit of the final batsman...and made him excited..even thought we were cheering against a bunch of around 25 Indian Boys..we still went on..

Two straight sixes...
and we were loosing hope...

A free hit and we knew it was closer to the time where we get on our knees and starts praying..
But the last balls were simply miraculous...
and we WON..with a margin of just two runs..

WEREN'T WE PROUD.. ECSTATIC..
jumping around the benches and ground..we all celebrated not just the team but the whole batch...
we all felt the bond of True comradeship...True passion for sport and True friendship...

We realized..girls or boys...Sri Lankans or not...team-member or just a well-wisher...
We are one batch and one family and that we need everyones support to succeed...

Important lessons learnt with the building of one strong bond between all of us..

all this from just a few matches!!amazing...

Love life..and learn...
God Bless..

Now it's spring here and the funny thing is i found my self sweating at 22 Celsius and missing the skin biting cold..how people adapt right!!!:)
Well that means that it is finally time for me to wrap away and store those horrible thermals and winter wear and take out my summer cloths and flipflops..yeppi...gosh i'm honestly sick of sneakers...

today after rushing from one bank to another paying bills and rent...jeez it was exhausting since all the bills come in Georgian and we had to find people who speak English right...we got home..and was so Hungry plus too lazy to cook that we bought a Pound of bread to eat with left over Potato curry and chili paste...(i love bread and chili paste..)and do you know what???I ATE 5 SLICES...i record for me..and i'm worried..i have been eating way to much this winter..UGHHHHH..that's the bad part about this climate...you can eat..and eat...and eat and never stop...so we four gals for the first time ate one and a half pounds of bread!!!I'm anyway a bit (not a lot..as my friends say..they are just too kind..)chubby so i seriously need to watch out my weight..and do you know what ...today when i got up in the morning..i over heard SL and CP discussing to add ENSURE and SUSTAGEN to my morning milk if i reduce the amount of food i consume..they are worried i know..but so am i..so i'm going to relax next time...and just make my own milk..lol..:P

And Turkish food can be amazing if you know what to order...after church today..one of our friends took us out for a very early dinner at a Turkish restaurant!!and the brinjal curry was amazing...Now that's what i call chillaxing and relaxing...well as you can imagine..i was the bite of the day!!!hehehehe..it always happens..i always...always./..always..gets bugged..and i'm yet to find the reason for such attraction..lol..

Being Clumsy...:)!!!

hey...
sorry have been away for quite sometime...
was buried with term papers and quizzes...and finally weekend..and so i can once again breath normally..

Clumsy is like totally me...hehehe..for the past week we got up late 3 times and practically ran all the way down the main road for lectures!!!lol...you know why...Because i have gotten up for the alarm...offed it and slept again....soo it was a Huge rush..where we had to dash in to the bathroom...make milk...make breakfast...get ready..find shoes...find socks...find pens and books and run off...like mad women...lol..

Then there was also the time when we started cooking dinner at 11pm...lol...because we simply forgot to eat..:)

And the most happening of all was ...nope..let me correct the most embarrassing of all happened to me..:(
Well here it goes...
It was another beautiful day..lol..
and we were in class..had a shape term paper...and was happy as honey-birds...
It was one of those moisture days..you know....my roomie..SL slips on the stairs and luckily me being next to her..hold on to her hand so that she just slips off one step and stop...
Then right after i step onto the next step...I slip...and fall...NNNOOOOO more like slide on my butt a whole staircase down to the lobby area...

Where are my faithful friends..Laughing hysterically at me from the top of the stair case...
and here i am..seated on the last step unable to get up because my butt hurts sooo bad...they remember...come dashing for my rescue..a little bit too late..as around 50 Georgian student stop everything and stare at me...(Embarrassing..and i couldn't even get up..)and then comes my friend and they are tugging at me...to help me get up..while i try to shoosh them away to see if my butt actually exists..:(..and finally i had to yell at them "Stop touching me"..to make them calm down..lol..which drew another set of stares..lol..let it be noted that i'm still seated..
and after a huge effort i stand up...it hurt BAD ..trust me..

And some other Sri Lankans who witnessed the whole spectacle..asked me giggling if i needed Fastrum..lol...i said thanks and took it..lol...my dearest roomie....who i blame solely for making me fall...(i lost my balance because i tried to save her..lol;)...)innocently offered to prepare steamed cloth to keep on the bruise...

and i still cant sit properly without wincing....
Now i know what i'm Allergic for..it's Stair cases...:)

Watch where you climb...:)
God Bless...

Movie Night!!!:)

So any student deserve to have a break once in awhile right??especially if the said student had an Exam filled... Quiz filled week...

So we decided to take the Friday off and thus decided to plan out the week-end productively so that we wont have to cram during the last moment as we did during the past week...

After heading home we all went to have decent sleeps...:)and got up to download movies and to chat about the week past!!!

We started looking up Movie Trailers on YouTube...we all decided that we should watch a horror movie...:D

So the movie trailer which i choose was Drag me to hell..as everyone flatly refused to watch Paranormal activity...

SG and CP were so excited to watch the movie and said that they love watching horror movies....so i told them to watch the trailer and download the movie...

SG loaded the trailer and started watching..halfway through it she is only watching the subtitles with a paper to close the screen..and lol...starts screeching and blaming the director for not warning the viewer before the monster appears out of the screen...lol....isn't that like the point of the movie....then SL and i realized that in the end it is going to be only the two of us watching the movie properly with our Kid sisters...

After deciding to cook noodles so that we had ample time to watch two movies as the akki's suggested and demanded that we watch Valentines day after the horror movie...hahahaha

Then as soon as we started eating there comes a powercut...
CP holds my hand in a threatening grip and doesn't allow me to move and get the match box to light the gas cooker as we didn't have any candles in the house..then we hear SG holding on to SL not allowing her to move...the nangi's burst out laughing at the ironic situation..finally i had to drag CP with me around the house looking for the torch and match box..lol..it was so funny...she was talking non-stop to calm herself...

Finally after getting enough light we were threatened by the akki's not to make weird noises without any warning after SG almost jumped out of the skin when CP threw some water into the sink...lol...SL and i knew that we are gonna have one fun tonight!!!:D

After light are back we headed to watch the movie...
It was only i and SL who watched and enjoyed the movie...as we noticed CP grabbing her books and reading aloud and studying as hard as we've ever seen her during the Scary parts...and SG closing her eyes with a short-note and reading only the subtitles...and also did i tell you that she had one ear closed...lol...must have thought that closing one ear would make the movie less scarier...

For me honestly who spent two sleepless nights after watching Paranormal Activity..this didn't make much of an impact and me and SL were merrily laughing at all the gross scenes...

Then we started right on watching Valentines Day as the akkis were honestly terrified..so after bugging them till they got sick of us...we watched Valentines day...Half of it..as it was not fully downloaded...hehehehe..

Then since we were not sleepy we all decided dive in to our mountain of Homework!!!
Halfway through it...
SG falls asleep on the couch..
SL decides to watch Lost because she is too sleepy to concentrate...
CP is listening to songs...
Penny..hehehe..on facebook...

Very unproductive aren't we.????lol
Then after dragging myself to the books i decided to send SG off to bed because the way she was sleeping would give her a chronic backache..

We woke her up..and she flatly refused to go sleep alone and insisted that she was gonna sleep there..so we covered her up with a blanket and set to work...

It's 3 am,,,and we are all dropping on our books..and me and SL decided that we need to really WAKE UP..
It all started with the Rambari Song...and me getting up and jumping up and down, head banging to the music...lol... embarrassing..but i guess i was too sleepy:S..
and SL gladly joined me and we went oooonnn dancing with wired moves..while CP hopped about videoing us....
End result...
CP looked like the angel without wings...
SL looked she had too much of butt to shake..
SG like she was drunk sleeping with all the noise..(she didn't move even an eyelid)
Penny(Me)..looked like a polar bear jumping around!!!

Hehehe..the videos were saved with caution to renew our memories when we are old and grey!!!to which i exclaimed that my kids are going to be so embarrassed when they see me dancing like that.i totally need to work on my style..:S..hehehe

After that we decided to end the movie night as it was 4am..shut our books...and laptops...and headed to the bedrooms...after the lights go out...
5 mins pass..
SL and i see two figures with long hair...just like in the Ring coming through our door...
hehehehehe
It was CP and SG...
they came..no questions asked... jumped into our beds to sleep...and threatened us into silence...hehehe..
even after Valentines Day..
a little homework session..
and dancing...
They were still freaked out..

ALL in all we still love our two akki's to death...
SL and i are planning on making them watch Missed call tonight!!!lol...wink...wink...shooosh...it's our secret!!!

Byeeee..
Happy times...:)
God bless..

A little more about ME/US...

ok...sooo i have been posting alot of wonder stories about our many adventures..but i have never formally introduced all of us to you...

there are four of us..living in a dear little apartment in the Beautiful Country called Georgia..for those who are not very good in Geography it's bordering the Black sea near Turkey and Russia...
There is CP...the big akki...Then there is SG...alsooo an akki..:)Then finally my roomie SL..and yours truly Penny...
Well we are a very happy little family who always try to live very quiet and responsible lives!!!lol...
The things that happen to us on a daily basis is really intersting soo i thought i would jot down a few for you all soo that you might get a wiff of all our personalities...
For an instance it's spring here now....but it's skin biting cold for the 4 of us since we,hail from the tropical paradise and have to bundle ourselves daily to go to uni when all the Georgian students come with stockings and jackets..:)
Once SL...was in such a hurry to get to uni as we were running late ...she just walked three stories down before she realised that she was still wearing her Bata Slippers....
Then there is CP who tends to take around 15 mins to really wake up after a nap..spilt Milk Powder on her BLACK denims one moring and didnt realise it untill we almost stepped out of the house..non-of us wanted to know how her milk tasted like that day..lol...
Then CP again yelled "COLD...WHOAAAAAAA"..when the water was emiting steam and was burning Hot...:)
Then there is SG who loads songs on youtube daily and plays and dances when we cook...lol...and then she also puts on the headset when we are studying so that she wont disturb us but sings Songs so loudly and she doesn't think that it disturbs us...
Then there is yours truly...ME...i am like the most sensible of the lot...lol...doesn't finish up the stock of chocolates...who dosen't fall asleep with open eyes during lectures and who doesn't seem to have this uncanny ability to make Very young boys fall for her...vice versa..lol..;)
Then there was also the time when the sun was shinning bright one morning and yours truly suggested that we leave our jackets behind and go to uni in sweaters for once...it was great...reminded us sooo much of home and the loving warmath of the sun...and we enjoyed the warmath for precisly half an hour at uni before the Sun dissapeared and the Cold heaved over us...after a Cold Teeth chattering lecture with joined stares and mumblings from all my flatmates we all dashed back home to get our jackets during our 10min.break during classes...lol...
As in today...after having Quizzes the whole week we all came home to sleep..and we all jumped on to the beds and cocooned ourselves in our belovad flowery quilts...and fell into...deep sleeps...then Rings an annoying phone..i drag myself out of Bed cursing the caller..and pick up the line to a Georgian speaking caller who just mutters..and i just listen..tell him i dnt understand a word he is saying and keep the line..as soon as i reach the bed the Phone rings AGAIN..you know how annoying that is...right when your really sleepy..then my roomie offers to pick up the phone and she drags herself out while i snuggle in...same caller...jobless...now we are both mad..and we refused to walk back to the phone again..and the Phone rings AGAIN....no answer...AGAIN...no answer..i pull the quilt up with ditermination..with no reason whatevr to answer the call...then i can here CP..cursing and dragging herself out of the bed to answer the phone...and as sleepy as she was...she answers the phone with.."HELLO...who is speaking here..."..lol..and listens...slams the phone..comes back...leaves the receiver off the hook and walks off....the annoying noise comes from the phone...she walks in...and wripps the phone cord off...and heads off to bed....lol...
well since we are a very unpredictable lot it seems like the Georgia as well is adapting to us...as i was posting about Spring Flowers once and told you that NOW is supposed to be the spring..Well IT SNOWED...!!!!

Typical right???
be good...
God Bless..:)

Eventful is not the word!!!...:)

So..people say when i'm around it's never boring..because unlike some blessed people who have the grace to lead peaceful lives...mine is sooooo unpredictable and very very very ....hehehe..why dont you come up with a name after you read this...

Well since we were gonna be having quizzes the whole week i was up till 3.30am pouring over the books...therefore as i'm the only one who usually hear all 4 alarms go off in the house and since i was dog tired, we all overslept...One of my roommates calmly got up around 8am and screamed...
We have lectures at 9am....Yikes!!!

So we all rushed about...I went off to boil the milk and take the chocolate out..one went off to make breakfast and two rushed to brush teeth...after screaming at the bathroom door at one an another we managed to brush, wash, change and eat all by 8.40am...i call it an achievement...

Then half ran to Uni..thank God it's just a 10 min walk away....
After having a enjoyable Georgian lesson first..we were exclaimed to be "Karthia Shweli"(Good Childern) by the teacher..and she said she loved Sri Lankan students as they are very Smart...plus points isn't it....

Then we had a very boring general Lecture...in which we had to cover for a boy saying that the reason he was missing throughout the lecture was because he was in the Toilet..:P..when he went home to sleep as he had a very late night...lol..wink...wink...and the lecturer actually believed us...:D

Then during the break me and one of my flatmates ran out of the classroom on a very important bathroom emergency..and searched unsuccessfully on 2 multiple floors for bathrooms..and finally decided to ask some Georgian Students for directions...so with my best Sri Lankan smile i went up to her and asked in half sign/half English...where the bathroom was and they giggled and pointed up and walked away...we were lost!!!lol...count on us to go and ask some NON-English speaking Georgian students the way to the Bathroom..my friend suggested that we yell.."Suchie Gogo"(Bad Girl-in Georgian)and run off...But we opted for the safer method of just walking back to class with half-sad smiles..

After the lecture me and my said friend dashed into the next building to head to the only toilet we knew and was stranded at a toilet with a broken door..so as one did the job the other had to turn her back and hold the door closed...why???why???why??meeeeeeeee....:S

then after another quiz at the next class in which we all did pretty well thanks to the late nights we pulled off the weekend.we headed home...One exclaimed loudly that it was bedtime for her..while the other three of us battled all the way home for a turn in the bathroom for a Nice Hot Water Bath...
Can you guess what we found when we got home???

NO WATER again...ughhhh this city!!!! and their main export is mineral water...one of my furious flatmates insisted that the Georgian Government was cutting our water to export water!!!...does it even make sense???lol..

Then i settled into type away my notes for the day and the others headed into their own worlds for awhile..when suddenly we hear a gushing noise..from the Kitchen...and....WHOA.....
After yelling to see if anyone switched the washing machine on..one friend went in and yelled...

Our Bathroom was flooding...water supply has been restored with so much pressure that our Hand/Bide Shower was split and blasting...

And since i was fully wired in a jacket...and jeans..i volunteered to get drenched in the freezing water to go solve the problem... while i rolled my jean legs up...i asked my other friend to zip off my jacket...and do you know what she did...she tried to pull off the jacket UNZIPPED off my head...i understand that she was excited!!!but it's my head...and while i was yelling to her to let me go...and having a neck wrestle another friend jumped in and tied the connection...
lol...by this time with the jacket off..finally ..i jumped into help pull out rugs full of water...these world war 2 building are so old that if water leaks on the floor the neighbor below gets a bath of their own..
so..can you believe it..we used all the carpets in the house to soak up the water...hehehehe...just a split second idea by one of us..and we dont know who's it was..lol...after ruining the carpets and calling on the neighbors to apologize...and our landlady to complain..
we set about trying to dry the place as much as we could before our landlady arrives...
cute son or not...this was going to get us so busted...

then one with a vacuum cleaner and one with a hair dryer, we crammed ourselves around the toilet...drying the place...yuckyy right???but trust me the dryer really works and then we had to sacrifice one of our dining serviettes to wipe the water off the walls and the toilet seat cover...:D

I thought these timely adventures happened only in movies...but since i'm involved..i tell you these things tend to always happen to me.alot..lol..
then after laughing ourselves out...and getting scolded in mixed English and Georgian by our landlady who thinks we purposely broke the Pipe???i mean why would we do that...right???with our hearts a bit wounded we thought that ...it was time that we are so going to get kicked out...

But since by some luck out Landlady loves us or something....she said that we are forgiven and sent the plummer over to fix the problem..i mean it was not our fault even,,,,stupid water pressure..but try explaining that to a women who hardly speaks any English...

I guess she felt sorry for me...as i tried my best to explain to her that we would never let the water leak if we could help it..that she finally turned to me and said ...

"I give you my Son LUKA's number..you call him if anything happens...He come and Help you...Yes??"

JACKPOT...hehehehe...how can i say NO to that...Number of the cute son is almost worth all the ruined carpets...lol...

so i innocently replied..."Madhu Loba Eka"(Thank you Eka)

And lead her out of the door...to turn back to the mesmerized utterly surprised expressions of my flatmates...which obviously asked the same question..."How on earth did you do that just now"...

Well what can i say..i'm just one of a kind of a person...if you know what i mean...;)

Smile always,
Every Dark Cloud has a Silver Lining....
God Bless..

wide smiles!!!..:D

after yesterdays dilemmas...and pouring over volumes of hard texts..i slept late...

i mean i got up like at 11am...hehehehe..and let me tell you it felt great!!!

then after we all managed to pull ourselves out of bed we figured that our landlady said that she is gonna send her LITTLE son to check our many bathroom problems....OHHH NOOO...

THE HOUSE WAS DUSTY....and WE WERE STILL IN OUR PIJAMA'S..

Then as one dashed into the bathroom to take a bath the rest of us took out the brooms and vacuum to arrange the house...As i vacuumed the carpets..one was dusting the furniture and one sweeping..then as soon as the bathroom got free the next one dashed in and the other resumed the dusting...
and then i went in..and they moved into arranging the beds and the kitchen area...
As soon as i come out in my Bathrobe the doorbell rings...
Yikes!!!!
I dash into the room...thankfully the girls had finished the dusting and arranging of the whole house!!!
I hear my roommate getting into a panic attack saying that there's a Man at the door..so i yell at her in Sinhalese asking to check before she opens the door and not to open if it's a beggar...

Then the next roommate goes for her rescue...and opens the door to discover a young BOY with a pad and a pen...and he mutters in Georgian...and my friends are unsuccessfully trying to understand him..so i go out..mind you in my bathrobe and figure out that the poor boy is the GAS Meter reader..and he had been yelling"GUS...GUS..."hehehe...to make my friends understand...did i tell you that one of my other friends offered him 20GEL..(equivalent of Rs.1400) for no apparent reason...she thought that he would talk in English if we gave him money...hehehe..she was that frustrated about people talking in Georgian to her...lol..thankfully the poor guy was even more terrified and pushed the Gas List to our faces...finally with a cheeky smile...he walked in..

We were a sure site...
One with dripping wet hair..right after a bath...
One in her PJ's ...
One with a towel wrapped around her hands...
And yours truly in her beloved Bathrobe...:)

Then we lead him in a parade to the kitchen towards the Gas Meter and he leaves after winking at our friend with the wet hair...I MEAN COME ON...hehehe..it was hilarious...
was wet hair more appealing than a towel, PJ's and a bathrobe....we were howling with laughter..

after preparing kadala theldala....

The doorbell rings again..and thankfully we are all dressed..and i answer the door to the most cutest Georgian Boy i have ever seen...

He was just smiling an utterly sweet smile and extended his hand to me and said..
"I am LUKA, Eka's Son..came here about the Tap leak.."

Omg...Now we were expecting a young 14yr older to walk in...and in walks this BOY...he was tall and good looking..and for a moment what we all did was stare at him until my friend had the sense to lead him towards the bathroom...lol...
And it was up to me again to explain to him the problem with the leakage and he said that he cant fix it...took a call to his mother(our landlady)and she said that she will send the plummer over to fix it...

And as suddenly as he came..our Cute Georgian Boy left with the same reluctant shy smile of his...
And we promised ourselves to bother our landlady more with plumbing problems...
How Kiddish can we get right!!!

But yet the day provided us with enough laughs to keep wide smiles on our faces...
Sometimes...
The little incidents that happen to us bring us much Joy if we have the time and patience to enjoy them...

So happy and wide smiles..
God Bless...

Not a Great Day - I want to live in Pandora...

i'm naturally a happy person...a very chirpy, giggly, happy person....
A person who loves life and doesn't want to hurt anyone....

But today was not a happy day!!!and also because i'm not a very emotional person and since all my flatmate's are going through personal crisis's of their own..i'm turning to my favorite frustration output method...writing....:(

sooo Apartment Issues Again...
after a full day of lectures and spending an additional 3 hours in the library buried amongst complex books we come home to find ...NO...WATER...
No water to wash...No water to go to the bathroom....No water to cook...:(
after screaming at the water board!!!we decided to stay put till the water returns...two went for a nap and i sat waiting....with another friend doing home work...
After water supply is restored!!!the shower starts leaking non-stop...and the toilet flush doen't work!!!
UNFAIR!!!!
soo we switch-off the water supply and try to adjust!!!thinking it's something to do with the sudden water cut...
BUT now our Hall Bulb and our Bathroom Bulb burns out....
I CAN JUST SCREAM.....saying that i wish i was an avatar and living in Pandora right now...

Since i'm the only one who can basically talk intelligibly to our landlady (who is fluent only in faint English)..i had to give her a trillion of phone calls because she was out of credit to call me...:(
AND NOW ..I'm out of Credit...and have no money to reload my phone till Monday!!!!(very sad)

Then Disaster number two was having to call one of the Seniors who knows Georgian and bother him to call up Our landlady and explain to her our dilemma...seems like after spending all my credit calling her...she didn't have a clue on what i was talking about....:(
Let me tell you that we have been bothering this particular senior from the day we arrived in Tbilisi..on water...toilet...and apartment issues...and obviously he was a bit annoyed and that hurts...i don't like to bother people like that...soooo

Here i am typing away...letting all my sadness and anger flow....i'm SAD...i'm Depressed and i just wished that i wouldn't have to be a pain to People like this...

I want to..i want to..i want to..live in Pandora....

Hoping for a better tomorrow yet...

The Best Day Ever- Womens' Day...10'

hhhmmm..kind of a cliche...
But seriously it was a great day thanks to some boys who made it such a memorable day for us...
This was another Holiday for us on this beautiful Eastern European Capital...isn't it great!!!This country sure knows how to respect and Love women...

well it was a pouring day here and we were stuck in our apartment sadly pondering how to celebrate this day of ours...:(

and to make things worse we had a ton of Homework to complete..

then some of the malli's who live nearby called us up and rescued us by inviting us for dinner. And we were happy..but since they lived like 5 mins away and since we were too chicken to step out of the house after dark we had to decline it...

But..the nice boys said that they were coming to our place to COOK FOR US...how sweet can you get right..
since we had to go and get the nice boys something we went desert shopping our favorite part of shopping and brought chocolate cake and peach cheese cake....yummy...And on our way back we were greeted by a lot of men...in Georgian...but we didn't know what meant so as usual we smiled and hurried away...:)(we assumed they wished us a happy womens day)...

and then the beloved mallis arrived with pots and pans with rice ,parippu ,chicken to cook for us....They even bought us a handmade card!!!how CUTE is that right???
They made us feel so much at home...the highlight of the day was one of our flatmate's who just got up from a nap..walked into the living room and sleepily wished the boys a happy valentines day!!!and she couldn't figure out why we were laughing and the little boys looked stunned.hehehe...
then we were chased to our living room to study and ladan with rock music the boys set to work cooking...

Three hours later...we were still waiting..:S...but the smell from the kitchen was intoxicating...
then the boys announced that dinner was ready after refusing any help from us even to clean up...

The cooking was heavenly...i mean it boys can cook...Chicken curry, Umbalakada sambol rice, parippu curry and ala thel dala....they treated us like princesses...every girls dream...

they reminded us why we love men so much and that no matter what we need them and they are always a part of our lives...

then after being pampered and treated into awesome food we were even provided with entertainment as the boys stayed on a little bit more and filled us on in their own utterly hillarious adventures..and shortcomings...ever heard of wasing clothes in the dead of the night and finding icicles on them in the morning..i mean who does that in Georgia.??..

Then one of the boys sang a original Sinhalese song which made us all sigh with longing for old school days and and the carefree days we always seem to enjoy just being a Sri Lankan kid.

it was a day of fun and made my flatmate's tear with simple joy...which we all needed and i found my self practically rolling on the ground in hysteria...

while the cold rain beat on our window and while the cold mist pressed against the glass trying to bring about coldness and gloominess into our little home..we found warmth, peace, joy and buckets full of love in the hearts of our friends and fellow Sri Lankans...

Thank you boys for making our day special and for keeping us smiling always...Happy Womens and Mens Day to all..you all deserve to be appreciated...

Happy smiles..
God Bless.

Spring Flowers!!!

Ok so Winter is nice but we arrived a bit late...so we missed the snow....sniff...sniff...but the plus point is that i might have a lot more years to witness the full Georgian winter...

The Georgians told us that this time the winter was very mild and that we missed it all...also mentioned that our timing of arrival was perfect as the winter was ending and spring was approaching...yeah!!!!

That reminds me of all the books I've read of European authors which always contained of lovers bringing spring flowers and kids picking the first flowers of the season for their mothers'...how sweet and nice sometimes life is???we tend to forget...

But did i tell you that the first experience for us of this mild winter was getting out of the Tbilisi airport at 7.30pm into the teeth chattering and skin biting cold air...where did the mild part of the winter go...

But yet i'm alive and still surviving..i miss the sun and the warmth of home and the dreadful yet rhythmic cranking of my ceiling fan at home, but when i think about it...i'm settling in to appreciate the coldness...the chilly nights clutching notebooks and steamy coffee...studying the nights away...

well obviously our stock of essential food ran out and had to set out another trip to Wagsal..this time alone...:S...hehe...
it was HOLIDAY at uni..yeppi...but we didn't know why??we thought is was a Georgian Holiday!!

And we set off...

We were greeted by fresh HUGE red roses, Carnations, Huge Gerber-as(is this how you spell it), Gorgeous Tulips and Wild flowers....

We were in Paradise...there were bunches and bunches of them for sale on the roadside...
Then the bright idea clicked me..Georgians are celebrating the Spring..the FIRST spring flowers have poped out...

all along the way we "AAAAHHH"ed and "OOOOHHH"ed at the flowers..seeing little kids buy flowers..husbands and men buying flowers...

That made me want to buy flowers....because i'm such a flowers person..after bugging the guys for around an hour we got them to buy us flowers..lol...

and we went home happy as honey birds hands laden with wild flowers...

when we wet home and some Seniors came to give us some books one saw our vase full of flowers and exclaimed!!!
"ooohhhhh how sweet did you buy flowers ????are you gonna mail a picture to your mum...sooo sweet of you all to celebrate Georgian mothers Day...."

WHAT???/
So00 like me.lol.the flowers were not for spring but for mothers day!!!!ooops....
and the guys bought us flowers...disaster...but the livable kind..

and then there was all of us skype calling our mothers to tell them how much they mean to us..and how they alway enlighten our lives..

This Blog is dedicated to you Amma..i love you to death and miss you loads..and mostly i miss our times and our moments and our crazy things....which i always play in mind when ever i feel like i'm far away from you...

Chapter Wagsal...

well since we cannot always afford to go buy our daily groceries and other necessities from supermarkets and super stores...the senior Sri lankans decided to take us all to WAGSAL...

Apparently we were told nothing about it...just to arouse our curiosity not even promises of chocolates would make them reveal anything to us about this place...

And in the metro we were taken to Wagsal...

When we climbed up the metro station to the wide streets...BEHOLD....IT WAS PETTAH...

I mean it...i Georgian Pettah....simply amazing...made us all feel alot at home despite the skin biting coldness...

It was a city square with full of pavement vegi shops and fruit carts....tiny shops which held amazing shoes, boots and many clothes and even the tiny accessory items...

It was a low budget students dream place...because they had everything on the streets and underneath the tents.all you needed to know was a bit of Gorgian and how to bargain..and since we knew neither we were put under a wing of two Seniors who expertly navigated all the by lanes and took us to the shops that we needed to visit the most...

Sadly many thought that we were Indians..it does make you mad sometimes when people get your country wrong. i mean Sri Lanka may be small but we are important and we have had leading personalities from our country right???One thought that i was Iranian???:S..haha..

OMG...How we shopped...from rice to pots and pans to books to cookies...it can all be found here...

thanks to the seniors we managed to get all our stuff...well may be most of the stuff because we tended to flip away to buy useless personal possessions other than the general marketing we came out to do...and we even heard the seniors exclaim in hushed tones..."gannawa...gannwa..iwarayak naaneadha??"(they are buying non-stop)...hehehe...

They have chocolates and cookies and choco-iced biscuits for super cheap prices...mountains of biscuits and chocolates...it was a whole section of the city...a true paradise for a chocoholic like me...well then how can i not laden myself with around 3 kilos of chocs and biscuits..trust me it was that cheap....:)

then after buying books...and an unsuccessful crusade for plastic containers..(georgians dont use plastic bottles...very sad)..and a sudden exclamation by one of my flatmates that she saw a Huge Rat..we decided to call it a day...

With another Kachapuri(Cheese bread if you haven't read the other posts) in hand...we headed back home..to the sweet comfort of our beloved electric heater..

we had a bad feeling that the seniors who took us around might never volunteer to take us shopping..lol...but we did buy them chocolates..hope that worked it's magic....

see you soon..:)

Landlady/Apartment issues...;)

What an amateur i am in this..i was sooo sleepy the last time i posed that i completely for got to add a title...:S

Therefore that's the first thing i did...when i stared writing today...

Well these Observations are very random things that you see in a typical Georgian life but which can be utterly new to the eastern Sri Lankan mind....

Firstly our Landlady..she is utterly sweet and was thrilled to have girls living in her building that she failed to understand the fact that there are certain necessities for Sri Lankan girls which totally differ from Georgians..like a fully automatic washing machine..:s..hot water in the kitchen tap...A very good heater...and most importantly...a bide/hand shower in the toilet..She politely told us that she will get us a washing machine in 3 days..:S...disaster as for some of us....our allowed baggage clearance of 30kgs was not enough to bring in a lot of clothes along with winter jackets and a thundering 13kgs of books and not forgetting our beloved chutney,seeni-sambal,ambulthiyal,moju and cashewnuts from home...therefore obviously as yours truly and many others gave preference to the food and books...we had very limited amount of clothes...

then the next issue..hot water..she must have expected our hands to be made out of wood because she pointed out that we dont need hot water in the kitchen, but later provided us with a pair of RUBBER gloves to use when washing dishes??:S..what about hands???

a heater..well she gave us one ...which was electric and reminded us that electricity is very expensive here and to use it only in the night...let me tell you that when she was explaining this to us..it was mid morning..and after padding ourselves with triple layers of clothes and socks and jackets with the heater on we were still shivering...:)..and she was wearing a skirt and a blouse.why.why.why..lol...she found it very amusing that my hands were icy cold and told me that we will get used to it...hehehe..hopefully...

then the Toilet shower...well after many complains and grumblings by us...lots of Big Impossibles from the landlady...and solutions provided to us by her with plastic buckets and cups we flatly refused to live there anymore without the hand/bide shower in the toilet..i mean how could you right???then came our landlady's mother who was delighted to see us and stated a lot of sweet words in Georgian(well we hoped it was sweet things)and explained to us that NO Georgian house has Bide/Hand showers that they use toilet paper...BUT...we are Sri lankans...eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww..How could we wipe and stay like that right???after a whole week of torture and grumbles...one of our Georgian Speaking Sri Lankan Senior students found us a plummer who would fix something at least similar to that to our toilet...we owe him alot..
And finally that issue was solved but that also only gives cold water...sooo you can imagine ...in the mornings...:S...but yet somethings better than nothing right...

well theres more to come..in ...the Chronicals of Georgia...:)

Hi Back...

sooo here i am after quite an interval...
as i was telling about me making all the big decisions in my life i would have failed to mention that i am now away from home...

it has been more than a week in this beautiful eastern europian country in which i have been enjoying immensely the diversity and the difference if the south and the east of the globe..
(Drum Roll)
i'm now living in Georgia...
not Georgia of the united states but the Georgia which formally belonged to the Soviet Union..

and i will be here for quite awhile...:(

but after being here for almost a week and a half i began to understand that i am quite flexible to the surrounding and have even developed a sudden weakness for KachaPuri(Cheese bread).

well it is the most famous bread in here and kind of the cheapest.:S..as well...a full time student has to watch out when it comes to finances right???

the first week was spent about by sS walking in the city, navigating the roads and the metro (YES...They do have the ride here...:D)and also locating the apartment, the market, general bazaar, church etc.

then came the horrendous communicating issue as the older generation of Georgia only understand GEORGIAN or RUSSIAN...and NOT A WORD OF ENGLISH...it was all about guesswork and sign language and by now i have become the resident expert in communicating with Georgians....I call it all pure luck;)

well I've got loads more to tell about the life here...
and loads of memories to document and i want to keep typing..
But my conscience is really bothering me about the LONG day i have ahead tomorrow...

sooo take care..
God Bless..

A new chapter...cheers to new beginnings...

Hello everyone...

Well i'm finally here.Lately i have been involved in a LOT of new things and as one of my faithful friends suggested, i have finally started my own Blog..and i'm really excited...

To start with...i have been really busy lately making lots of important decisions in my life and finally learning to grow up although in my heart deep down I KNOW that that's not going to happen...because...some people are meant to be kids at heart right????

With the rush of growing up.Moving away from home and stepping up the ladder to a new dimension in my life i am learning a lot..from new languages, taking responsibility, shopping, managing finances and even house keeping....

And my objective is to share with all a slice of my simple-yet-weird-in-a-good-way life and make lots and lots and lots of friends...

Sooooo..till later...take care and stay safe...
God Bless...
